SAMPLER SERIES
April 19 — Family Day Around the Hearth
  10 am – 2 pm — $35 per person including lunch
Brought to you by Anila Groft from Historic Ridley Park
Bring the whole family – all generations invited – and join us in the kitchen! Anila Groft, whose career in culinary arts spans 25 years, is also an 18th century food historian at Ridley Creek Plantation. She will be cooking on the Primitive Hall kitchen hearth, offering a hands-on workshop and sharing the experience with you. So get ready to bake bread in the beehive oven (you can take it home with you) and share a delicious lunch of seasonal springtime soup, finishing with your creation of bread pudding with orange-current sauce. Along with the food, Anila will share lots of culinary history and local food lore.
September 17 – Lecture: Pennsylvania German Arts and Architecture
October 15 – Lecture: Historic Flower Arranging

Fourth Continental Light Dragoons
Something totally new is coming to Primitive Hall this spring! We are excited to welcome the Fourth Continental Light Dragoons, who will stage a military encampment on the grounds. We invite you to visit this historic 18th century troop as they re-create a revolutionary era campground at the Hall. You can expect to see cavalry training tactics with both mounted and dismounted troops, as well as camp settings and activities. Soldiers will be available to interpret and explain as they go about their duties. The Hall itself will be open for visitors from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss this exciting Pennsylvania living history day.
